My Services
Birth Doula + What is a Doula?
The support of a doula before, during, and after birth has been proven to improve birth outcomes and parents' satisfaction with the experience. Whether you plan to give birth at home, in a birth center, or in a hospital, having an experienced doula will help you navigate your journey through labor by meeting with you prenatally to prepare, helping you pace yourself in early labor, joining you well before your medical provider is needed, staying by your side through the whole process, remaining after birth for the immediate recovery and skin to skin time, and following up with you in your home during the postpartum period.
We work together to define your birth plan and to prepare your family and your providers. I support you in all the ways that make sense for your family's needs, whether that is guided breathing and meditation, back massages, remind you of your strength, or holding you while you cry. I provide baby re-positioning movements and tips (training through Spinning Babies), prenatal yoga, bring snacks and water, and help translate what a nurse asks for. I never leave your side. As a doula I help to assure that your birth plan is followed and that you are confident with and CONSENT to any necessary changes. Your body, your choice.
Evidence based research supports a doula's role in labor. In 2017, a Cochrane review showed:
-
25% decrease in the risk of Cesarean; the largest effect was seen with a doula (39% decrease)*
-
8% increase in the likelihood of a spontaneous vaginal birth; the largest effect was seen with a doula (15% increase)*
-
10% decrease in the use of any medications for pain relief
-
Shorter labors by 41 minutes on average
-
38% decrease in the baby’s risk of a low five minute Apgar score
-
31% decrease in the risk of being dissatisfied with the birth experience

Core Consulting
As a Diastasis and Core Consultant I work with you to help heal core imbalances and diastasis recti (stomach separation), rebuild and reclaim your core system.
Ideally, abdominal-strengthening exercises should be initiated during pregnancy to promote good posture, strengthen the muscles for labor, and prevent low back pain and Diastasis Recti. However, it is also possible to have DR without a pregnancy as other factors can contribute to DR and it is never to late to have an improvement in functional of your core!
Because Pelvic Floor muscle dysfunction is so highly correlated with DR, proper pelvic floor muscle activation is a part of the preventative and rehabilitative role. Initial 90 minute assessment can focus on a detailed movement assessment or a detailed Pelvic Floor assessment. $90
Postnatal Care
Now you are a mom! You are already Strong as a Mother ~ let's get your body strong, connected and powerful!
Corrective Exercise is a blend of personal fitness training with physical therapy. Corrective Exercise teaches you how to move with the correct muscles, enabling fluid joint movement and the potential avoidance of nearly any joint or muscle pain and as a new mama, you may be experiencing diastasis recti. This abdominal wall separation affects about two-thirds of pregnant women. Careful consideration must be given to training your new core properly and safely and form a solid basis for core awareness as an active new mom.
Four (4) 60 minute sessions = $200 ($50/session) / Eight (8) 60 minute sessions = $360 (45$/session). Packages must be paid in advance. Sweet babies welcome to attend with mom. Individual sessions available at $60/session.
Prenatal Yoga
Yoga during pregnancy has been shown to help strengthen the uterus and pelvic muscles, improve circulation, aid in digestion, exercise the spine and increase overall comfort during your pregnancy. Yoga can also alleviate many of the discomforts of your pregnancy such as nausea, constipation, varicose veins, swelling, back pain and sciatica. By linking yoga postures with the breath we bring awareness to the mind, body and spirit, and also the spirit of your baby!
You are provided a safe space to freely discuss any issues, from discomforts and concerns, to the wonderful new changes your body and baby are experiencing. You will learn deep core breathing practices which will be valuable to you in your pregnancy and through labor and delivery of your sweet babe!
Private sessions $60/hour (sliding scale and packages available) or check my on-line class tab for current group classes!
